Under the leadership of the eighth president, Tetsuya Tajiri, DAIHEN defined its purpose as the “Simultaneous Achievement of Everyone’s Happiness” for all stakeholders. In 2012, this was formalized into our Fundamental Management Philosophy, supported by specific “Happiness Target Values.”
By creating “uniquely DAIHEN products” that solve social issues, we drive both corporate growth and social sustainability. Profits are shared according to our happiness targets, strengthening the trust that underpins our long-term success. Today, every employee is united in this mission, playing a vital role in realizing our shared purpose.
The Company’s purpose is to enable all stakeholders surrounding the Company—customers, employees and their families, shareholders, suppliers, and local communities—to experience greater happiness (“Simultaneous Achievement of Everyone’s Happiness”). To achieve this, we clearly define concrete goals for each group of stakeholders (“Happiness Target Values”) and strive to realize them.
We recognize that an effective corporate governance framework is a vital foundation for fulfilling this purpose. Accordingly, we are committed to building and strengthening a governance structure with real effectiveness across the entire Group.
To ensure rapid decision-making, the company operates under an executive officer system and a business division structure. Matters exceeding defined operational authorities are determined by a management conference comprising representative directors and auditors.
As of June 2022, the Board of Directors consists of nine members, including three independent external directors, ensuring robust supervision and active discussion. To strengthen oversight, corporate auditors with expertise in law and accounting collaborate with internal and external audit teams. Additionally, a Nomination and Compensation Advisory Committee, composed primarily of independent outsiders, ensures transparency in leadership succession and executive remuneration.
